10Base5 Medium Specification (粗線 Ethernet)

10 Mbps, Manchester encoding.
Original Spec. in IEEE 802.3 and based on Ethernet
Use a 50-ohm coaxial cable (characteristic impedance = 50 ohm)
Impedance is a measure of how much voltage must be applied to the cable to achieve a signal strength.
The maximum length of a cable is 500 m.
The maximum length of a 10Base5 network is 2500 m (see Example 3).
The distance between any two adjacent taps being a multiple of 2.5m.
A maximum of 100 taps is allowed.
